Equipment

  • Chef's knife
  • Cutting board
  • Large bowl
  • Two forks (Once you get hooked on salads, invest is some cool looking salad tossers – mine look like owl wings!)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb organic mixed greens
  • 1/2 your choice of fruit, chopped
  • 1/2 your choice of onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz your choice of cheese, crumbled or chopped (can be omitted if you don't eat dairy)
  • 1/2-3/4 cup nuts/seeds
  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Chop fruit and thinly slice onion.
  • Put the lettuce, fruit, onion, cheese, and nuts in the large bowl. Set aside a quarter of the nuts to decorate the salad.
  • Pour red wine vinegar along inside edge of the bowl, mix salad using forks to combine.
  • Pour olive oil along inside edge of the bowl, mix salad using forks to combine.
  • Use forks to scoop salad onto serving plates, top with the remaining nuts, and enjoy!
